BOSTON (AP) -A Boston Celtics official says the team has reached an agreement in principle with guard Nate Robinson on a new contract.
The official confirmed the agreement to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity Friday because it had not been announced.
The Boston Herald reported that Robinson will get $4 million a year for two seasons.
Robinson was acquired in February at the trade deadline and had fallen out of the rotation by the end of the regular season. But he re-emerged in the playoffs, keying Boston’s clinching victory over the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals and then pitching in during Game 4 of the NBA finals with 12 points in 17 minutes.
