LOS ANGELES (AP) -Even when Lamar Odom was a kid with limitless imagination growing up on New York’s playground courts, he might have dismissed Thursday’s season finale as a bit too perfect.
When the Lakers take on the Celtics in Game 7 of the NBA finals, Odom sees it as a dream come true – if any players even dared to dream that big.
The first finals Game 7 since 2005 is the fifth between longtime rivals Boston and Los Angeles, with the Celtics winning all four previously.
Yet the Celtics have plenty stacked against them at Staples Center after an embarrassing 89-67 loss, in which they lost starting center Kendrick Perkins to a sprained right knee. No visiting team has won a championship in Game 7 since the Washington Bullets did it in 1978.
