INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Six NBA prospects, including post players Ekpe Udoh of Baylor and Hassan Whiteside of Marshall, have worked out for the Indiana Pacers.
Whiteside led the nation in blocked shots as a freshman before declaring for the draft. Udoh set the Big 12 record for blocks this season. Both defensive-minded players know they need to put on weight and develop their offensive skills to succeed in the league.
Derrick Caracter of UTEP, Daniel Orton of Kentucky, Lance Stephenson of Cincinnati and Chris Kramer of Purdue also worked out at Conseco Fieldhouse on Tuesday as part of their preparation for the June 24 draft.
Team president Larry Bird watched over the session, occasionally chatting with the prospects.
