BOSTON (AP) -Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo landed hard on his back in Friday night’s playoff game against the Orlando Magic.
Rondo was driving to the basket for a reverse layup when he was fouled by Jason Williams with 33 seconds left in the first quarter. He came straight down on his back, winding up in an awkward position.
The Celtics called a timeout, and the fans started chanting “Rondo!”
After he got up, wincing in pain, he hit both free throws.
Rondo had a game-high 12 points to go three assists in the first quarter.
