DALLAS (AP) -The NBA isn’t likely to punish anyone for the things that happened on and off the court in Games 3 and 4 of the Mavericks-Nuggets series.
“Don’t expect anything from those games,” league spokesman Tim Frank wrote in an e-mail Wednesday, about six hours before Game 5 tipped off in Denver.
Game 3 ended with a 3-pointer by Denver’s Carmelo Anthony after officials failed to call a foul on Dallas’ Antoine Wright, a decision the league announced was a mistake a few hours later. The disputed ending triggered a heated reaction after the buzzer, with Mavs forward Josh Howard being restrained and Dallas owner Mark Cuban expressing his frustrations, then making a comment to the mother of Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin.
Martin and Cuban exchanged words, then later Cuban posted on his blog an apology for the way Martin’s mother was treated.
