PHOENIX (AP) -Coach Alvin Gentry calls it “synergy,” a word that means, essentially, something greater than the sum of its parts.
That’s perfect for these upstart Phoenix Suns. They are, in simpler terms, a lot better than just about anyone expected them to be.
The Suns have won six playoff games in a row, a franchise record, dispatching their longtime nemesis San Antonio with a four-game sweep to advance to the Western Conference finals.
Gentry says he’s so proud of his players and has “a ton of respect” for them.
Maybe this playoff success shouldn’t be such a surprise. After all, the Suns are 36-9 since Jan. 28, 22-4 since March 14.
