WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) -Paul Pierce hopes the next time he goes to Miami he’ll be on vacation.
He could fulfill that wish if the Boston Celtics beat the Heat on Tuesday night and win their NBA playoff series. But first they’ll have to contend again with Dwyane Wade. The Miami star scored 46 points in the Heat’s 101-92 victory on Sunday that cut Boston’s lead to 3-1.
The best-of-seven series resumes in Boston and Pierce says there’s a sense of urgency to wrap it up at home so the Celtics don’t have to play a sixth game in Miami on Thursday night.
Quentin Richardson also hurt the Celtics on Sunday with 20 points and Pierce blamed himself since he was Richardson’s primary defender.
