MILWAUKEE (AP) -Celtics forward Kevin Garnett missed Boston’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night to get some rest.
Coach Doc Rivers says nothing is wrong with Garnett, but that he looked sluggish in Boston’s 106-96 loss to Washington on Friday night. Garnett was 3 of 12 from the field in 25 minutes, finishing with eight points with four rebounds.
That performance was below his season averages of 14.4 points and 7.3 rebounds.
Rivers says they need Garnett, but it’s important to make sure he’s ready for the postseason and healthy.
Garnett didn’t take the decision to sit very well at first, but Rivers says Garnett was doing his part in the Boston locker room by getting a massage before the game.
