CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Charlotte starting shooting guard Raja Bell left the Bobcats’ game against Miami in the third quarter because of a strained right calf.
Bell crumpled to the floor near midcourt while the Heat were on a fast break. Play was stopped after the Heat’s Udonis Haslem was fouled with 10:33 left, and Bell clutched his right leg as he tried to get to his feet.
Putting little pressure on his leg, Bell was helped off the floor by Bobcats reserves Sean May and Nazr Mohammed and went straight to the locker room.
Bell came in averaging 11.9 points and is Charlotte’s top defender. He had been guarding Miami’s Dwyane Wade.
