DENVER (AP) -New York guard Larry Hughes was sidelined Tuesday night against Denver because of a sprained right ankle.
Hughes injured the ankle in the Knicks’ loss at Utah on Monday night.
Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni said Hughes is day-to-day and could return Saturday against Toronto. Hughes has been filling in for Quentin Richardson, who has been out with a sprained left ankle.
Since being acquired from Chicago on Feb. 19, Hughes is averaging 12.5 points and 2.8 rebounds for the Knicks.
He also missed a game on March 23 due to a sore left toe.
