MILWAUKEE (AP) – A game-winning buzzer-beater by Khris Middleton gave the young Milwaukee Bucks a lift.
The team has been struggling since the All-Star break but remains in playoff contention. Middleton’s 3 to beat Miami on Tuesday ended a six-game losing streak and gave Milwaukee a 2 1/2-game cushion over the Heat for the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Coach Jason Kidd says it’s all part of the learning process. The Bucks have had to deal with injuries. They switched point guards at the trade deadline after shipping Brandon Knight to Phoenix and getting Michael Carter-Williams from Philadelphia.
Milwaukee has fallen to 35-36, though it’s still a vast improvement from last year’s 15-win season. Veteran forward Jared Dudley says playoff games will give the young players valuable experience.
