MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -The New York Knicks held struggling and hurting point guard Chris Duhon out of their game at Minnesota.
Duhon has been bothered by a bad back and ankle, and he’s been ineffective too. Coach Mike D’Antoni said Friday that Duhon has been “running in mud” and needs to be shut down for two or three days. He’ll likely miss Sunday’s game at conference-leading Cleveland, too.
D’Antoni had resisted benching Duhon in favor of streaking Nate Robinson, whom he prefers as a reserve, but this move gave him a chance to make the lineup switch.
Duhon had 18 points and 13 turnovers in the last four games. Robinson scored 30 points or more in the previous two games, plus seven of the last 13.
