NEW ORLEANS (AP) -Peja Stojakovic sat out New Orleans’ game against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night because of back spasms that flared up during the Hornets’ previous contest at Philadelphia on Monday night.
Stojakovic missed most of the 2006-07 season because of back surgery, but has sat out only a few games since. He has played in 53 games this season, averaging 13.8 points.
Thursday night’s game was the seventh he’s missed this season.
Hornets coach Byron Scott had second-year swingman Julian Wright ready to start in Stojakovic’s place.
