NEW YORK (AP) -Zach Randolph was ejected in the third quarter of the Knicks’ game against Sacramento on Wednesday night after tossing his headband toward referee Tony Brothers.
New York was trailing 82-64 when Brothers whistled Randolph for fouling Spencer Hawes on a jump shot. Randolph – who often removes his headband during games – took it off and threw it toward Brothers, with it landing near his feet.
Brothers didn’t see it, but referee Mark Wunderlich did, so a technical foul was called and Randolph was sent to the locker room.
Randolph finished with five points and three rebounds.
