Tyler Herro led Miami with 29 points off the bench on 7-of-9 shooting including 3-of-4 from 3-point range plus 12-of-16 at the free throw line. He also contributed seven rebounds and two assists. Jimmy Butler tallied 21 points in his Heat debut to go with five rebounds, three steals and two dimes. Goran Dragic had 21 points, three boards and three assists as a reserve. Atlanta fell by a count of 112-97 at Miami Tuesday night as point guard Trae Young sprained his right ankle after playing 11 minutes and is day-to-day. John Collins led Atlanta with 30 points on 10-of-17 shooting including 5-of-8 from 3-point range plus 5-of-6 at the charity stripe. NBA Betting Trends
Miami
The Heat are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six Thursday games. Miami is 3-0-1 ATS in its last four games overall.
Atlanta
The Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Atlanta is 2-8 ATS in its last 10 Thursday games.
Prediction:
The Hawks have ruled out Young until at least next week so that hurts their chances considerably here. While Atlanta is at home against the same team it lost to the other night, I’d rather take my chances on a squad at full strength and with a true leader in Butler. The contributing pieces are all playing great for Miami and it has a chance to be one of the surprising teams in the Eastern Conference this season. I’m giving the points here.
