Clips re-sign Jordan, 12/1 to win Finals
LOS ANGELES, CA (The Spread) – DeAndre Jordan has officially re-signed with the Clippers despite verbally committing to the Mavericks.
Jordan verbally agreed to a four-year max contract with the Mavericks last week but changed his mind and will now return to Los Angeles. According to ESPN sources, his contract with the Clippers is also a four-year max deal that will be worth an estimated $88 million. Jordan can opt out after three years.
ESPN reports that Jordan did not respond to any of the Mavericks’ attempts to contact him on Wednesday. The team reportedly reached out to him via phone calls and text messages, but Jordan was busy meeting with players and coaches from the Clippers. He then signed his deal just after midnight on Thursday morning.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Clippers are 12/1 to win the 2016 NBA Championship while the Mavericks are 33/1.
