Durant carries Warriors to win
With other players on Golden State struggling from the field in Game 3 and Steph Curry dealing with foul trouble, small forward Kevin Durant stepped up with a very impressive performance to lead the way to a 110-102 victory at Cleveland Wednesday night and a 3-0 series lead. Durant poured in 43 points to go with 13 rebounds and seven assists in the big-time performance. He shot 15-of-23 from the floor, hitting 6-of-9 3-point attempts plus went a perfect 7-of-7 at the free throw line. No one else on Golden State had more than 11 points, with Curry only shooting 3-of-16 from the floor for that point total. Draymond Green contributed 10 points and nine assists. Klay Thompson, JaVale McGee and Jordan Bell also had 10 points each. Andre Iguodala played his first game of the NBA Finals and ended with eight points off the bench in 22 minutes.
Triple-double not enough for James
LeBron James had another massive game for the Cavs as he finished with 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots. He connected on 13-of-28 shots, although he only made 1-of-6 3-point tries. James also hit 6-of-7 free throws. Kevin Love contributed 20 points and 13 rebounds. Rodney Hood received 26 minutes off the bench and finished with 15 points and six boards. Cleveland played well in the first half and led 58-52 at the break, but a surge by the Warriors at the start of the third quarter changed the game. Golden State led by two at the end of the third quarter before keeping control in the fourth.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The under is 4-0 in the last four Warriors games played on one day of rest. The under is 7-1 in the last eight Golden State games on Fridays.
Cleveland
The Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games after allowing 100 or more points in their previous game. The under is 4-1 in the last five Cleveland games after allowing 100 or more points last game.
Prediction:
I don’t think even LeBron has enough power to overcome this series deficit, not with the lack of consistent help around him. This would be a much more interesting series if Kyrie Irving was still around, but George Hill and Jordan Clarkson just don’t quite bring the same punch. Durant preached not being complacent after the Game 3 win and I think the rest of the Warriors follow those orders. Bet on Golden State to finish off the sweep tonight.
