Denver Nuggets DFS Notes
Nikola Jokic came up one assist shy of a triple-double with a line of 38 points on 14-of-31 shooting (3-of-9 3-pointers), 11 rebounds, nine assists, four blocks, one steal, and two turnovers in Tuesday’s 147-140 double-overtime win over Portland. After Saturday’s Game 4 loss, Denver head coach Mike Malone said “Our starters were awful. I thought we had some guys that were tentative, that looked a little scared, who played soft… we’re going to have to be a lot better going home.” And boy were they to start. The Nuggets jumped out to a 14-1 lead after a Facundo Campazzo free throw with 7:06 remaining in the first quarter and led by as much as 21 points after a Markus Howard three-pointer with 7:01 remaining in the second quarter. Though the Blazers fought back and made the game more than interesting, Denver showed resilience and took a commanding 3-2 lead. Denver will now travel to Portland looking to close out the Nuggets in Thursday’s Game 6.
Portland Trail Blazers DFS Notes
Damian Lillard set an NBA postseason record for 3-pointers made in a game with 12, en route to 55 points on 17-of-24 shooting (12-of-17 3-pointers), with 10 assists, six rebounds, three blocks, one steal, and one turnover in Tuesday’s Game 5 loss. Logo Lillard made another appearance in Tuesday’s Game 5 as Dame put together one of the most spectacular playoff performances of all time, drilling game-tying three-pointers at the end of regulation and the first overtime to keep Portland alive, and hitting tough shot after tough shot down the stretch. Unfortunately, it did not result in a win and the Blazers are now on the brink of elimination needing to win two consecutive games to extend their season past the opening round of these Western Conference playoffs. Game 6 will take place Thursday in Portland.
