Thompson cleared for Game 1
OAKLAND, CA (TheSpread) – The Golden State Warriors will be at full strength for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, as Klay Thompson has been cleared to play following a concussion.
ESPN reported the news on Tuesday night that Thompson passed concussion tests and has been cleared to play for the Warriors in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. Thompson suffered the concussion during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals when he took a knee to the head. He returned to practice on Monday, which was a big step, and then passed the proper protocol on Tuesday.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Warriors are a 6-point favorite against the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The over/under total is listed at 202.5 points. When it comes to series odds, the Warriors are favored to win with a money line of -220, while the Cavs are listed at +185.
During the playoffs, Thompson is averaging 19.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and just under one block per game. Thompson is shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from 3-point land while making 3 3-pointers per contest. During the season, Thompson averaged 21.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.13 steals per game. Thompson shot 46.3 percent from the field and 43.9 percent from 3-point land.
