Clippers vs. Rockets Game 5 Odds
HOUSTON, TX (TheSpread) – The Los Angeles Clippers look to punch their first-ever ticket to the Western Conference Finals tonight when they face the Houston Rockets at 9:30PM ET in Game 5 of their series.
The Clippers are 63-30 on the season, 29-17 on the road and 44-48 against the spread. Houston is 61-30 on the season, 34-12 at home and 52-39 against the spread. The Clippers took a 3-1 lead in the series on Sunday with a 128-95 win at home. The Clippers have covered the spread in all four games of the series thus far and the two have hit the over in all four games.
According to oddsmakers at online sports book GT Bets, the Clippers are favored on the road tonight, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Rockets. The over/under total in this game has been set at 219 points.
The Rockets showed desperation in Game 4, resorting to the “hack-a-Jordan” philosophy from the start of the game. Houston sent DeAndre Jordan to the free-throw line 28 times in the first half and 34 times for the game. Though Jordan made just 14 of those attempts, the tactic seemed to spark the Clippers, who dominated the second half and outscored Houston 68-41. Jordan finished with 26 points and 17 rebounds while Chris Paul had 25 points with 12 assists for the Clippers. James Harden had 21 points with eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Rockets.
