Bosh done for the year
MIAMI, FL (TheSpread) – The Miami Heat’s chances of repeating as Eastern Conference champions once again has taken a severe hit, as Chris Bosh will miss the rest of the season.
Bosh was hospitalized earlier this week after developing blood clots on one of his lungs, and the team announced on Saturday that the issue is serious enough that he will be unable to play again this season. Bosh’s future isn’t in jeopardy, as he is expected to make a full recovery, but he will be unable to play again this season and leaves a big hole in Miami’s roster.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Heat currently are listed with 66/1 odds to win the NBA Finals this season. Golden State is the current favorite with 3/1 odds, while Cleveland has 4/1 odds.
Bosh had an All-Star season this year, as he averaged 21.1 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for the Heat. His scoring average was the highest it has been since joining Miami back in 2010. Miami is currently 23-31 on the season and in the seventh spot in the East. The Heat are 19.5 games behind Atlanta for the top spot and just a ½ game ahead of the ninth team in the standings.
