Bucks looking to buyout Sanders
MILWAUKEE, WI (TheSpread) – The Milwaukee Bucks are having one of their best seasons in a long time. However, they may be letting go of one of their bigger contracts.
The Bucks are currently in discussion to buyout the contract of Larry Sanders, according to ESPN. Sanders just completed serving a 10-game suspension for violating the NBA’s anti-drug program but he hasn’t seen action since. He has appeared in just 50 games for the Bucks since signing a $44 million contract extension after the 2012-13 season.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Bucks are currently listed with 150/1 odds to win the NBA Finals this season. They join the likes of the Miami heat, the New Orleans Pelicans and the Phoenix Suns. Golden State is the favorite right now with 3/1 odds while the Cleveland Cavaliers are getting 15/4 odds.
The Bucks last made the playoffs in the 2012-13 season, due in part to what Sanders was able to do. Milwaukee is currently 30-23 on the season and in the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference. It looks likely Milwaukee will make the playoffs, as they have an 8.5-game lead over the ninth-seed. The Bucks are 12.5 games behind Atlanta for the top seed and they have a 20-13 conference record.
