Rockets surprise Utah
Houston is coming off a 126-117 win at Utah on Monday despite not having Russell Westbrook or James Harden in the lineup. The Rockets have won and covered in three of their last four games. Houston is 29-17 on the season, 14-10 on the road, 22-24 against the spread and 25-21 with the under.
The Rockets have the league’s second-best offense. Houston is averaging 118.7 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Defensively, the Rockets are allowing just 114.3 points per game while opponents shoot 45.8 percent against them. Westbrook was off on Monday for rest, so he will play tonight. Harden remains questionable tonight due to a thigh injury while Clint Capela is questionable with a heel injury. Harden averages 36.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game. Westbrook is adding 26.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.4 assists per contest, while Capela averages 14.2 points and 13.9 rebounds per contest.
Blazers get past Indy
Portland is coming off a 139-120 win at home over Indiana on Sunday. The Blazers have won two of their last three, both coming at home. Portland is 20-27 on the season, 11-11 at home, 17-28-2 against the spread and 25-22 with the over.
The Blazers are putting up 112.8 points per game this season while shooting 45.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Portland is allowing 114.9 points per game while opponents are shooting 44.8 percent from the floor. Damian Lillard is leading the team with 28.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. CJ McCollum is adding 21.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Houston
The Rockets are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games as a road favorite.
Portland
The Blazers are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win.
Prediction:
The two have split a pair of games in Houston this season. The Rockets are on a nice run as of late, winning three of their last four games, including two on the road. Houston still is uncertain about Harden, but the Rockets still have a lot of scoring options without him. PJ Tucker put up 50 points on Monday in a big performance. I think the Rockets can continue their strong offensive play tonight against a really lackluster Portland defense. The Blazers can score, but their inability to make defensive stops will be a problem tonight.
