Kobe’s season over w/injury
LOS ANGELES, CA (TheSpread) – The Los Angeles Lakers had little shot to win the NBA Finals this season, but it seems even less likely now as media reports have come out stating Kobe Bryant’s season is over.
Bryan suffered an injury on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, but Bryan has told others that the injury has been lingering all season. Team doctors examined Bryant on Friday and ESPN is reporting they discovered a torn rotator cuff, which will end his season.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Lakers are getting 1000/1 odds to win the NBA Finals this season, which is tied with the longest odds for any team in the league. The Cavaliers are currently the favorite with 4/1 odds while the Warriors have 9/2 odds.
Kobe averaged 22.3 points per game this season in 35 games. He also had 5.7 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game. This marks the second straight year that Bryant is having his season end before the halfway mark and he has failed to play in 60 games in three of the last four seasons. The Lakers are currently 12-31 on the season and 13.5 games out of the eighth and final playoff spot in the West.
