Thunder bounce back
Oklahoma City is coming off a 119-106 win at home over Portland on Saturday, ending a short two-game losing streak. The Thunder are 24-19 on the season, 10-10 on the road, 28-15 against the spread and 22-21 with the under.
The Thunder are giving up just 108 points per game while holding opponents to 45.6 percent shooting. Offensively, Oklahoma City is putting up 109.6 points per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the field. OKC is led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging 20 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per contest.
Rockets on a skid
Houston has lost three straight games, all by nine points or more, including a 124-115 loss at home to the Lakers on Saturday. The Rockets are now 26-15 on the season, 14-6 at home, 19-22 against the spread and 23-18 with the under.
The Rockets are putting up 118.6 points per game while shooting 45.3 percent from the field. Defensively, Houston is allowing 114.2 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent from the field. James Harden is leading the team with 37.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. Russell Westbrook is adding 25.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 7.2 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Oklahoma City
The Thunder are 16-5 against the spread in their last 21 road games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Monday games.
Houston
The Rockets are 1-5 against the spread in their last six games as a favorite, but 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against a winning team.
Prediction:
The home team has won both games this year between the two, but the Thunder have covered the spread in four straight meetings with the Rockets. OKC overwhelmed the Rockets at home just 11 days ago. The Rockets haven’t looked good in recent games, as their offense has really been struggling with their shooting percentage. That could continue to be a problem against an OKC team that is defensively-led. I just have a hard time giving up so many points right now if I am Houston.
NBA Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder +6.5
