AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) Matt Kenseth tells The Associated Press he does not regret intentionally wrecking Joey Logano in an act of retaliation and says he will be even more aggressive on the track when he returns from his two-race suspension by NASCAR.
Kenseth says he felt he had no choice but to take a stand with Logano after incidents over three consecutive races. Had he known the punishment would be so severe, Kenseth says he likely would have exacted revenge in a different manner.
Logano spun Kenseth at Kansas to snatch a victory that Kenseth needed to remain in contention for the championship. When Kenseth was wrecked by Logano’s teammate at Martinsville three weeks later, he says ”the fuse was lit.”
He returned intentionally wrecked Logano to earn an unprecedented suspension.
