DOVER, Del. (AP) – Chris Buescher stretched his fuel, connected with a teammate and held on to win the Xfinity Series at race at Dover International Speedway on Saturday.
Buescher won for the second time in the last three races and added to his lead in the series points race. He edged Chase Elliott for a win two weeks ago at Iowa Speedway.
He went 98 miles on his final run, saving just enough fuel to pull into victory lane. Buescher knocked his Roush Fenway Racing teammate Darrell Wallace Jr. out of the way late in the race to take the lead. Wallace, who started on the pole, lost his left rear tire and was forced to pit.
Matt Kenseth was second and Regan Smith, Austin Dillon and Kasey Kahne completed the top five.
