LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Danica Patrick is off to another slow start, bogged down by an IndyCar schedule front-loaded with road and street courses.
Certainly, she's frustrated, but not discouraged.
Patrick is 16th in the points heading into this weekend's Grand Prix of Long Beach, but she's at least making progress on non-ovals. She ran in the top 10 for a while in the season opener at St. Petersburg and last week had a strong run going before a tire gamble failed, dropping her to 17th.
IndyCar's most recognizable star, Patrick is in her second season splitting time between open-wheel racing and NASCAR's Nationwide Series.
