DETROIT (AP) - Travis Pastrana will be behind the wheel in a new Dodge Dart rally car as part of this year's Global RallyCross Championship Series.
The extreme sports star was on hand Monday to announce his plans at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Detroit. The GRC schedule begins May 26 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Pastrana's much-anticipated NASCAR debut is still set for late April at Richmond International Raceway in the Nationwide Series. He originally planned to join NASCAR's second-tier series last year - a move derailed when he shattered his right foot and ankle in a motorcycle crash at the X-Games.
The 28-year-old Pastrana is a four-time Rally America champion and 17-time X Games gold medalist.
