Roger Penske bristled Monday at ``petty'' barbs being levied against driver Joey Logano for his wealthy upbringing.
The team owner also defended his driver in the fallout from Sunday's race at California, where Logano was involved in a last-lap accident with Denny Hamlin that hospitalized Hamlin. Logano also had a post-race altercation with Tony Stewart.
Penske told The Associated Press that it was just ``hard racing,'' and he stands behind Logano.
