2013 AAA 400 Free Pick
DOVER, DE (ATS Consultants) - After Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the pole on Friday, who will win the 2013 AAA 400 today?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Jimmie Johnson is the current favorite at 7/2, while Matt Kenseth is 4/1 and Kyle Busch is 5/1 to win. Kasey Kahne, Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards and Earnhardt Jr. are all 12/1, respectively, to win today's race.
Here are our predictions for the AAA 400:
Kenseth has been on fire of late, winning three of his last five races, including back-to-back efforts in the Geico 400 at Chicago and the Sylvania 300 at New Hamspshire last week. His average finish at Dover is 13.59 and has wins here in May of 2011 and June in 2006. In 28 starts this season, he's won seven races, has finished in the top 5 eight times, and has 15 top-10 finishes. Ride the hot hand.
Keselowski has yet to pick up a victory on the season but last year he won at Dover after starting 10th. He has an average finish of 13.00 on this track and finished fifth back in June after leading for two races. On the year he has seven top-5 finishes and 12 top-10s, and could be due for a victory on a track that he's had success at in year's past.
Live Long Shot:
Truex has finished in the top-5 six times in 2013 and in the top-10 12 times. He also has a victory under his belt this season, which came at Sonoma back in June. His average finish at Dover is 17.13 but he does have a victory here, which came back in June of 2007. He has six top-10 finishes at this track over his career and should run well again today.
