Logano wins Atlanta pole
HAMPTON, GA (TheSpread) – After winning the Daytona 500 last week, Joey Logano started off this weekend right by claiming the pole for Sunday’s Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Kevin Harvick is now the sole favorite with 17/4 odds to win this race. Other short odds now are Logano (7/1) and Jeff Gordon (15/2). The Folds of Honor Quik Trip 500 will take place from Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday at 1:16PM ET.
Harvick has never won this event. He is coming off a second-place finish last Sunday. Harvick has one win in Atlanta in his career with an average finish of 18.8 and a driver rating of 90.4. Harvick qualified second for this race.
Logano is competing for the ninth time at Atlanta. He has yet to win a race there and has just one top 5. His average finish at the track is 21.5 while his driver rating is a low 71.9.
Gordon is a former winner of this event, winning this race in 2011, 2003 and 1998. He is coming off a 33rd-place finish in the Daytona 500 last Sunday. Gordon is a five-time winner at Atlanta in his career. His average finish at the track is 11.9 while his driver rating is 106.0, which is tops of any driver. Gordon will start from the 35th position.
