ST. LOUIS (AP) -The Cardinals season ticket plan for 2009 will leave prices unchanged for more than 70 percent of their seats, a decision influenced by the economic downturn.
The team said season ticket prices will increase 1.6 percent on a weighted average basis.
“We are committed to using the same general pricing structure as in 2008, with only a few changes that reflect the dynamic nature of our seating mix,” team president Bill DeWitt III said in a release. “We are being very sensitive to the trends in the general economy while also being faithful to our longtime season ticket holders.”
Season ticket holders must deposit $100 per seat by the end of October, with the balance of accounts due in February.
The Cardinals open at home April 6 against the Pittsburgh Pirates and will host the All-Star Game in July.
