LOS ANGELES (AP) -Los Angeles Dodgers manager Joe Torre briefly watched last weekend’s retrospective during the final game at 85-year-old Yankee Stadium, even though he was never mentioned by his former team.
“I didn’t think of that part,” Torre said Tuesday before his NL West-leading Dodgers opened a three-game series against San Diego. “I didn’t know my name wasn’t mentioned until someone mentioned it to me.”
No mention was made either of Roger Clemens, whose legacy has been clouded by accusations he used performance-enhancing drugs.
If Torre felt slighted, he kept it to himself.
“I didn’t know what their game plan was” in saluting former players and coaches, he said.
Torre was shown on the stadium’s video screen talking about the Yankees’ 1996 World Series championship team, his first in New York. He guided the team to three more World Series titles from 1998-2000.
He left the Bronx for Los Angeles last fall after 12 seasons, with the Yankees having reached the postseason every time. The streak ended Tuesday night under first-year Joe Girardi.

“It got to the point where we were going to have dinner, and we don’t watch TV during dinner,” he said.
