BOSTON (AP) -The Baltimore Orioles activated outfielder Adam Jones from the 15-day disabled list and recalled pitcher Garrett Olson in time to start against the Boston Red Sox on Monday.
Jones, sidelined with a broken left foot since August 3rd, paid immediate dividends to the club by homering off Paul Byrd on the first pitch he saw in the opening inning. It cleared the seats above the Green Monster.
Olson (8-6), making his 22nd start of the season, was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on August 20th.
