PHILADELPHIA (AP) -Catcher Sandy Alomar Jr. was sent to Double-A Binghamton of the Eastern League by the New York Mets on Wednesday night.
Alomar, who had been designated for assignment, hit .158 in six games with the Mets. Major league rosters expand Saturday, and Alomar could rejoin the team when he's eligible to return next month.
