PHOENIX (AP) – Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder Scott Van Slyke left Wednesday night’s game against Arizona with an apparent right ankle injury.
Van Slyke was hurt in the fourth inning when planted his foot to throw the ball to the infield after Alfredo Marte’s base hit. Van Slyke doubled over in pain for a moment, then was able to get to his feet and walk off.
Van Slyke was charged with an error on the play, and an unearned run scored off Clayton Kershaw.
Van Slyke homered earlier in the game, his fifth home run off Wade Miley in 18 at bats this season.
Carl Crawford replaced Van Slyke in left.
