CINCINNATI (AP) -The Cincinnati Reds reinstated shortstop Alex Gonzalez from the bereavement list Wednesday and sent infielder Mark Bellhorn outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Gonzalez had been on the bereavement list since Aug. 15 while tending to his son, who is suffering from an illness in Miami. He's been on the bereavement list three times this season.
Bellhorn got one start after joining the Reds on Aug. 15 for the second time this season. He was hitting .091 in 10 games.
