WASHINGTON (AP) -The Philadelphia Phillies put right-hander Adam Eaton on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on Wednesday.
Eaton is 9-8 with a 6.36 ERA, but has given up 16 runs in 12 2-3 innings over his last four starts. The move is retroactive to Aug. 11.
Philadelphia recalled left-handed pitcher Mike Zagurski from Triple-A Ottawa to take Eaton’s place on the roster. Zagurski is scheduled to report Thursday for the Phillies’ game in Washington.
Eaton had been scheduled to start Friday in Pittsburgh, but right-hander J.D. Durbin will instead make his fifth start for the Phillies. Durbin is 4-2 with a 4.14 ERA in 10 games.
Zagurski is 0-0 with a 2.00 ERA in seven games with Ottawa. In an earlier stint with Philadelphia, he was 1-0 with a 4.58 ERA in 23 games.
