BOSTON (AP) -Oakland recalled left-hander Dan Meyer from Triple-A Sacramento and optioned Dana Eveland before Sunday’s game against the Red Sox.
Eveland (7-8) lasted just two innings and gave up nine runs in Saturday’s 12-2 loss, though he hasn’t gotten much help even when he does pitch well. The A’s have scored two runs or fewer in 12 of Eveland’s 22 starts, and he’s 0-8 when that happens.
He was 0-3 with a 10.59 ERA in his last four starts.
Meyer, 10-5 with a 4.48 ERA, is tied for the Pacific Coast League lead in victories.
