DETROIT (AP) -Jose Capellan was optioned to Triple-A Toledo Friday by the Detroit Tigers, making room for right-hander Zach Miner, who was reinstated from the bereavement list.
Capellan, acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers for Chris Cody on July 1, is 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in seven appearances for the Tigers. He was optioned to Toledo on July 24 before being recalled three days later.
Miner, who is 1-3 with a 3.18 ERA in 16 games, went on the bereavement list July 27 due to a family emergency.
