ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -The Tampa Bay Rays activated closer Troy Percival from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday.
Percival had been out since July 2 with a strained left hamstring. The right-hander also was sidelined from May 29-June 12 with an injured left hamstring.
“He’s feeling stronger and better,” manager Joe Maddon said. “It’s great to have him back. He’s been chomping at the bit.”
The Rays also placed reliever Gary Glover on the 15-day DL with a strained left calf. The move is retroactive to July 11.
