MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Oakland Athletics outfielder Travis Buck was activated from the 15-day disabled list Saturday and infielder J.J. Furmaniak was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento.
Buck, on the DL since June 28 with a sprained right thumb, started Saturday in left field. Before the injury, he hit .283 in 54 games with six home runs and 20 RBIs. He batted .378 in his last 11 games.
Furmaniak was recalled Thursday, but did not appear in either game. He was hitless in one at-bat during his previous stint with the Athletics from June 16-20.
