ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski left Saturday night’s game at Texas after being hit on the left foot by a pitch.
Pierzynski, who caught his 1,000th game, was hit in the third inning by Kevin Millwood. Pierzynski initially stayed in the game and then caught the bottom of the inning. Toby Hall pinch-hit for Pierzynski in the fourth and remained in the game.
Millwood threw an inside pitch which struck Pierzynski on his back foot. He went to the ground momentarily before he getting up and gingerly walked to first base.
