SAN DIEGO (AP) -Atlanta Braves catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia left Friday night's game against the Padres after he was hit on the left temple by a foul ball by pinch-hitter Hiram Bocachica in the seventh inning.
``It squared me up good,'' Saltalamacchia said. ``I'm kind of walking on a cloud right now. Hopefully by tomorrow morning it will be all right.''
Replays appeared to show the ball hit the catcher on the shoulder first.
``I couldn't stand and I kept wobbling and I tried to get up and I just kept stumbling over so I said, 'Just stay down for a second.' ``
He was replaced by All-Star Brian McCann, who was scratched Thursday night in Los Angeles due to a sprained right knee. Manager Bobby Cox said before Friday night's game that McCann was available.
McCann underwent an MRI exam that showed no structural damage.
