PHOENIX (AP) -Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Eric Byrnes left Monday’s game against Milwaukee with a strained left hamstring, a week after coming off the disabled list with a right hamstring injury.
The left fielder, who spent a month on the DL, pulled up as he tried to steal third in the second inning. He never reached the bag and was thrown out by Jason Kendall. He limped off the field and into the clubhouse. Jeff Salazar replaced him in the batting order.
Byrnes doubled in his only at-bat Monday, his third hit in 23 at-bats since being activated.
