PHOENIX (AP) -The Arizona Diamondbacks have placed catcher Chris Snyder on the 15-day disabled list with a lower back strain.
The Diamondbacks on Tuesday promoted catcher Luke Carlin from Triple-A Reno, where he hit .287 with four homers and 22 RBIs in 44 games. To make room for Carlin on the 40-man roster, Arizona moved Conor Jackson (pneumonia) to the 60-day disabled list.
Also Tuesday, center fielder Chris Young was scratched from the starting lineup against Texas with a groin strain. He was replaced by Gerardo Parra.
