MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -Arizona’s Mark Reynolds left Saturday’s game at Minnesota in the middle of the seventh inning after hitting a ball off his right foot.
The ball was hit hard enough to bounce all the way to third base, where Brian Buscher fielded it and threw out Reynolds to end the inning. The Diamondbacks third baseman was in too much pain to leave the batter’s box, and he hobbled to the dugout. Augie Ojeda replaced Reynolds in the field.
Leading off the bottom of the inning, Joe Mauer dropped a bunt down toward Ojeda and barely beat it out for a single that sparked a five-run rally for the Twins.
Arizona second baseman Orlando Hudson fouled a ball off his right foot in the seventh, too. He grimaced for a bit and hopped around, but stayed in the game.
