CLEVELAND (AP) -Cleveland Indians left fielder David Dellucci left Tuesday night’s game against Philadelphia in the fourth inning with a left hamstring injury.
With runners on first and third, Dellucci hit a ground ball to first baseman Ryan Howard, who threw to second base to force out Ryan Garko. Shortstop Jimmy Rollins made a return throw to first and Dellucci beat the throw with a headfirst slide, but immediately rolled over and grabbed his leg.
He was on the ground for a couple of minutes and was helped to the dugout by two trainers. Dellucci’s status will be re-evaluated Wednesday.
Jason Michaels replaced Dellucci in the lineup.
