MIAMI (AP) -The former attorney for Jose Canseco said he has sued the retired baseball star for not making payments.
Attorney Robert Saunooke said Tuesday the former slugger didn’t pay him for five years of work. He says Canseco owes him between $350,000 and $500,000 for representing him in civil and criminal matters, contract negotiations, plane trips and book deals. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel first reported the lawsuit.
Saunooke represented Canseco from 2003 until April. He filed the lawsuit in Broward County Circuit Court on May 30.
Canseco’s current attorney, Gregory Emerson, did not immediately return a message left at his office.
